The National Institute for the Blind (Instituto Nacional para Ciegos -INCI-) offers counseling and technical assistance to entities at a national and territorial level in the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the public, social and cultural educational policies for the inclusion of the visually impaired.
For the year 2014, the INCI will be an entity recognized at a national and territorial level for its high quality of counseling and technical assistance in the management of public, social and cultural policies for the inclusion of the visually impaired.
The National Institute for the Blind (Instituto Nacional para Ciegos -INCI-) has as its primary purpose the organization, planning and implementation of policies to get rehabilitation, educational, social and work inclusion for the visually impaired, as well as their social and cultural welfare and the prevention of blindness. In the developing of its objectives, the INCI must coordinate actions with the ministries of National Education, Health and Social Protection, and Information and Communication Technologies in its areas of competence, and will exercise the powers of supervision on the entities of and for the visually impaired, wether public or private, in accordance with the policies set by the Ministry of National Education.
